Next time you're in a pinch, remember that there are a lot of fruits with high water content that will keep your little muffin hydrated until you can give them real water! It's a trick a lot of people use on long car trips to prevent soaking their mice.

Thanks! We don't usually have fruit in the house, but we've been trying to buy more (trying to eat better, I think Squeekums eats better than us). What kinds of fruits would be good for mice?

Apples are usually a hit, and so are peaches, pears, and tomatoes (which technically are a fruit in the botanical sense, though I think as far as the food world is concerned they are classed as a veggie).

What I do is just buy a regular bottle then use tape to tape it to the side at the correct level. It's a hassle peeling the tape off every time it needs to be changed/filled, but I've found it to be easier than searching far and wide for water bottles that are actually made for solid tank walls.
