It's been one of those weeks, and it's only Tuesday...

The very full work schedule continues. I've finally handed in a report that's been going on forever - at least that's what it feels like. A couple of more things to do before the end of the month, and then it's hopefully back to normal-busy. That's exactly the same quibble I had. I suppose most modern viewers don't even notice, and would probably have reacted had they had period makeup (i.e., not much), but that's the downside of being interested in the fashions of past times...

However fangirly I feel right now, I'm not really a fanfic aficionado, so I haven't read any of the recent flood. But I'm sure you're right about it.

Admittedly, I also did a WTF with the slicing of the pig carcasses (entire bellies, but contain no inner organs...), but that is probably just a specialist hang-up.

The thing with fanfic is that Sturgeon's Law applies. The problem is that after you remove the 90% crud, you still have to filter through the remaining 10% to find the awesome among the many adequate or not-total-fail fics. Therefore I mainly find things through other people's recommendations. If I ever find a truly awesome Sherlock Holmes movie fic, I will let you know. (there are however Gaiman's Lovecraft/Holmes crossover story, which has a few fanfics on Yuletide (I'm sure I have recommended them - search my yuletide tag if you're interested)).

I also took a few pictures of the blackwork embroideries in the textile section, so have as inspiration for my planned embroidery project for my friend's wedding.

Any chance you might be talked into sharing? :D

I planned to upload on flickr, but perhaps they won't be of enough high resolution to be worth it for you? Of course, I could upload them as a zip file on mediafire, and send you the download link, though.

If you're planning to upload to Flickr, I'll look at them there first. I'm mostly curious at this point.
