So, past few weeks I've been job hunting.  Figure I either need to get a second part time job or (preferably) find a decent full time job, so I can start saving money and move out.

I know all about your situation. I only have one part time job and I took the summer off now, I'm looking for another part time job so I can catch up on my bills and just have some extra money saved up. It sucks but I just keep on applying away. Have you tried Craigslist.com? They always have some good jobs. Good Luck! :)

Those listings on Monster and other sites are BS. No one has anything close to the skills 'required' for a particular job. It is a running joke in the industry. Apply for anything and everything you are remotely qualified for.

The main thing employers are looking for in entry level jobs (or really any level job in the industry) are an outstanding work ethic and a high level of enthusiasm. Also, end every interview with "If hired, I will work hard for your company"--as corny as it sounds, they eat it up.

Ohhh the job-hunting process... Good times, good times. I'm kind of glad my mom said I'm not allowed to get a part-time job while I'm in school. I think I might just fall over and die after a while of doing that... I'm busy enough as it is.

Anyway, best of luck! I'm sure some kind of opportunity will show up eventually.
