'You can't buy my forgiveness with visual aids'

Livejournal is acting patchy. And I'm getting slightly irritated.

The long long weekend is drawing to an end and that is downright painful. The next break like that is going to be at Christmas and that's nearly two months away. Ok, a month and a half, but still too long.

So Dexter s2 is a go? Greatness! Those Showtimes guys know the good stuff, all right :-)

You mentioned some of my favourite parts in the episode. The 'no blinking' thing cracked me up. Also loved Angel's 'don't go down the emotional route, just god down on her'. It absolutely kills me - in the best way - that Dexter actually follows the advice of two killers... though it does make sense in Dex's world. But it is a streak of genius, really. Man, I love that show!

Apparently season 2 is going to have 12 episodes, too. Yay. Good move there, Showtime people. I like you way better than those HBO jerks.

I love how completely lost and confused Dexter was about how to get into Rita's good graces again. It was like he was negotioting his way through quiksands, 'checking his every move', looking for clues everywhere. His mind works in some most amusing ways.

Yep, season 2 is a go. They announced it a few days ago. At the moment, I'm loving Showtime quite a lot.

THe scene with two killers was brilliant all around.
And I actually had a Commodore when I was a kid.

THat scene between Dean and Jo was gold. And of course he thinks that women can do the job. I'm pretty sure Ellen scares the crap out of him and she's not even a full hunter.

Oh, Dean, how are you so awesome?
An excellent question. Sadly, the answer eludes me. I just accept it as a tenet of faith and drool a lot.

I finally got to see Dexter last night as the hotel I stayed at had Showtime, and I do have to say it's an interesting premise. I think though that I need to know a bit more background on the characters, as this one just kind of jumped in with foreknowledge by the watcher already presumed. Still, I think that the only way that Dexter could ever "feel" anything would be if he met someone like him, and was able to be happy (as happy as he could feel) about that. Makes me wonder though about that lady friend of his; she seems interesting enough to possibly, secretly, be like him (?).

I skipped this week's The 9; the show is still cool but for some reason I think it's losing a bit of its, I don't know, awesomeness lately. It could come back to being the coolness I thought it was, so let's hope.

I still think that Supernatural is teh pretty and I like the characters, but I've gotten spoiled by BSG, Lost, and Heroes and for some reason its episodism doesn't appeal to me. I am not normal. *shrug*

It must be quite disorienting to jump into the middle with a show like 'Dexter', with one long, continuous storyline. I stongly encourage you to check out the previous episodes, they are really worth it. Believe me, it's prime entertainment ( ... )

I must admit than on an emotional level, The Nine does more for me than Dexter. Not that I don't find the Ice Truck Killer mystery intriguing and Dexter's behavior throughout the episode (getting relationship advice from his victims etc.) pretty hilarious - but the tangled relationships in The Nine are just more squee-worthy. Still, Dexter is probably one of the cleverest shows I've ever seen!

'The Nine' doesn't seem to work on me like it should be. I appreciate how the threads are nicely meshing up there, how the connections between the characters are forming one big net. And how it's all happening on the micro level (I had to stress that, because with the previous sentence, I realized that I might just as well be describing 'Heroes';) It's all revolving around one robbery, one traumatic experience, there are no great super-dramatic, extraordinary plots at the base of that to dazzle the audience. The drama here is the quiet, serious sort. And I respect that ( ... )

Yeah, I see how The Nine would fail to move you if you don't care about the inividual characters. For some reason, the show hit it right off with me. I just want to give everyone (including Lucas... though Randall maybe not so much) one big hug and then proceed to push them together and play mix'n'match. ;)

Lucky you. I'm still waiting for the break-through. I'm still watching for the plot, but the characters have to yet catch my interest. Which, btw, makes 'The Nine' inique among all tv shows I watch, because usually the character component is of utmost importance for me. Strange how these things work out sometimes.

I'm still undecided about 'No Exit', but I was half asleep when I saw it. I like Jo as a character, but not crazy about them pusshing her on Dean.
I agree with Sam having way to little to do in this episode.

I'll post my review when I get a chance to see it when I'm actually awake.

About Jo/Dean, I figured that I'll worry about it when it actually comes to happen. So far it's been pretty much a brother/sister relationship and I'm ooookay with that. I'm pretty good at denial and if I try hard enough I'm going to convince myself that the 'Romance! Romance Alert!' bells didn't come off at all, and deal with it around season 4 when said romance is bound to ensue. It's still season 2 so I'm a happy camper.

Yeah, Sam is not allowed to play background. Ever.

Looking forward to your review. Take your time. Even I, if pressed to choose between SPN and sleep, would probably choose sleep in the long run. Or not. It's a toss-up.

Agreed. Like I said I was exhausted when I saw the episode, so I didn't get a reading on the two. But I did like their little arguments.
And yeah, getting more of a brother/sister vibe at the moment.

Yeah, that was just kind of weird. Jo's the one who should have been sent out to get coffee.

Will need to watch it again, can't seem to find the time. Hopefully tonight.

True. And, yet, she wasn't.
At least we can be reasonably sure that tonight we are getting just Sam and Dean, and no interfering blond upstarts ;)

The time for 'Supernatural' is always right.
