He was lost in the moment, lost in her playful touch, but he pulled away after a time and looked down into her eyes with a smile. Not much to say - not much he felt needed saying.

She felt a small sense of loss when he pulled away, though it was lost in all of the other things she was feeling. Her eyes caught his and she smiled back a little vaguely.

Not like he was pulling away too far, just taking the time to exchange looks. Still there, still hands on, still not wanting to let go.

She could see something in his eyes, though her people-reading skills were slighly out of practice. It made her smile a little bigger as she watched him.

Seeing her smile widen was just the trigger he needed to reach back down for another kiss, a gentle one this time, not so heavy as the last. Just a quick one.

His kiss was gentle and sweet, causing her to close her eyes and sigh. "I've missed you too much..." she whispered after a moment.

"Me too," he replied, quietly. "I... it wasn't the same here without you." But he'd held on, anyway.

Simmons just chuckled faintly at that, finally letting go of her, not without a last little flick at her hair. "I guess not." He paused. "You want to grab a coffee or something? We can't stand around here all day. Not that it isn't nice, of course," he added, casually.

She grinned at him a little shyly. "If you'd like, then we can certainly move." Her sensor tingled from their recent contact, and she shivered slightly.

"Certainly, then!" he remarked, making a grand gesture with his hand as if to indicate the direction before starting to move off.

Sheila giggled and grabbed his hand, walking next to him in the corridor. A comfortable silence fell over her.

They didn't need to talk for Simmons to feel happy. He glanced down at her for a moment as they walked, smiling warmly.
The door wasn't fully shut as he approached and pushed it all the way open. Hopefully there'd be something in here. Not like the base was ever well off for supplies.

Sheila followed him into the room. "Hungry, are you?" she asked with a grin. She squeezed his hand to show that she was just teasing.

((Sorry for the long wait, dear.))

"Don't get hungry. But damn, I could do with a drink." He laughed, squeezing back gently. "Busy morning."

((No worries.))
