Oooh, pretty nice! It's cool that you could take part in such a "vintage" activity in your town ^_^ In Rome it'd be impossible... Most of the older machines are now obsolete-- But this kind of trams (well, not exactly THIS KIND x'D) were still on service at least 10 years ago-- I used to take them everytime to go downtown! I FELT SO CLASSY, ahah XD The wooden seats sure looks comfy, and I'm sure that they kept your ass cool during the trip XD ...Or at least at the beginning :D
These are obsolete as well but they saved a few of them, fixed them, gave them a new coat of paint and now they're available for several weekends each year. The everyday trams we have here are all new models - even the previous model is nowhere to be seen now.
Not really, those wooden seats weren't much colder than the rest of the tram. XD But they did seem more comfortable than the soft cushioned seats in the new trams and buses. Unexpected, but not unwelcome. :)
