Oh man, that's exactly how it is with croissants in Paris! Croissants everywhere just cannot possibly compare once you've tried true Parisian ones. They're just so amazing.

=) we need to find a way to import Devonshire cream here, no?

And about croissants, there's this really nice bakery in Scarborough that makes lovely croissants. Last time I was in Paris, I don't recall eating croissants (I know, stupid of me) so I can't say...but yes.
