Left out an "us" in the "for those of lucky enough" bit, if you want to change that before the poll goes up.

Also - *hugs*. And I don't know how to female very well either, so I get you on that.

Ooh, thank you for catching that! I don't know how many times I missed that. xD

*hugs back* It's tricky, because so many society expectations etc are bullshit because of misogyny. I just...don't care enough. But my wife doesn't really care either, she just wants to dress in a way that makes her feel happy -- and that's more femininely than me.

Finding decent fitting clothes that dont look like mom-wear, especially for work is a huge challenge.

It is. I've kinda given up on it. I'm a SAHM, I can look like one, deal with it, etc. =p. Women's clothing is just so frustrating, lol.

I've been thinking about this topic ever since transcribing half of Anderson Cooper's special on Kristin Beck which aired late last week. I'm similar to you, in that at certain periods in my life I outright rejected women's fashions, partly because I found them uncomfortable, partly because I didn't do them very well, and partly because I didn't like all the stereotypes about women being weak/brainless/disposable, etc. In high school I would tell the hairdresser to "cut it as short as you can," and I my favorite hat in wintertime looked like a men's fedora. But hey, it was the 1980s ( ... )

My hair's kinda longish right now, but I've had it really short before and I like it that way. I've been confused for a boy when younger because of it, too. I loved it.

God, the pockets thing. That's a thing my wife complains about constantly. IF ONLY THIS HAD POCKETS. She complains that the pants don't really have pockets, either. Uh, yeah they do. At least I don't own pants where the pockets are sewn shut? Those are most annoying. She bought a purse recently, though. :) And even when I carried around a diaper bag, I always kept the phone and keys in my pockets. xD Easier to reach them there! lol

Thank you. I'd hope she feels the same way.

Yeah, when I worked, I'd change out of my jeans and into yoga pants or something. The t-shirt could stay. T-shirts are comfy. But the bra would come off. =p

It really is.

Being (and dressing like) a woman can be so damn difficult -- the world doesn't make it easy! I like to dress (fairly) femininely, but I still feel like I'm not "being a woman" properly. (I fail at makeup, for example.) While I have a kind of girly style, my hair is very short right now. It's still...a girly cut, though? I think it is. Whatever it is, I like it, which is what matters. :)

She's still growing her hair out and it looks really nice, right now. I love it and know she wants to grow it longer than it is. She's also learning how to use make-up. Obviously, I can't be a good teacher, because I have no f'ing clue what I'm doing with the stuff. I can fudge my way through it, but not enough to teach someone else. ;)
