I'm working away on the book for the final manuscript turn-in date (Jan. 3), but something has come up that I'd like to ask y'all to help me with. Last week, sapphireisle posted about her frustration with fundraising--politicians won't help, feel-good TV shows won't help, and the family doesn't have enough money to deal with her mother's illness but still has ( Read more... )

I will post this link on my journal and try to publicize it a little, since I am unable to donate. Best of luck!

This might be a silly question but is there a time limit on the donation time?

Not really, no. I would certainly say it's open until January, at the very least. And really, just because we close out this particular fundraising drive doesn't mean that the family won't still need help three, four, five months from now.

Thank you - I have to wait 'til Friday to get my stipend and I wanted to make sure I wasn't too late. It's good of you to promote her cause.

Thanks. : ) I'll sign anything people send me, although I'm going to look into some kind of setup where you can buy books that have already been signed, to minimize the back-and-forth and the expense to y'all.

And yeah, my LJ email is just an alias for my real email--it all goes to the same place. : )

Cool, signed bookness would rule! I wonder if I'll be able to spare cash for such things.

Just gotta tell you, this makes me beam. I love seeing your updates on the total. And M15M is yours, your very own -- you're utilizing it for a good cause without the merest whiff of (well-intentioned) fund-raising-fanfic problems. Delightful.

(Plus I may get to read a new on as early as Jan 4, squee. That's a powerful incentive to kick in a few more shekels.)

Heh. Thanks. : )

I don't know--it's been a wild year for me with the whole M15M thing, you know? I don't know how it happened, but somehow I ended up doing something that people really seem to like, and if I can use that to help people, I mean--why not? I just can't think of any reason not to.
