Heart
is a funny name. -
Shouldn't it be
Soft?
Dorothy
is sleeping in the earth
Dorothy
will wake a-smiling
Trickling through the veins of words
Vast and gentle, ever-wise
Comes to play to say to heal
To the ones who (y/l)earn to rise...
For he was lost in the quiet forest
And what step he took, he took it wrong;
Leaving no step on the soft, soft moss
As the early cobwebs thronged the air. -
He noticed them not as he stepped step by step,
Shedding the mist of the lon(g/ely) (f/n)ight,
His heart is eaten by the bitter frost
As the pines are nodding to the yawning light -
But here, beneath, is no morning, no light;
The fogginess lies in the hands of firs
And a quiet laughter tickles the land
As the tired foot meets (e/il)lusive ground.
Heart
is a funny name. -
Shouldn't it be
Healed?
Dorothy
will catch you as you fall
She's always there
where you fall
For as you fall
there's no-where else to fall. -
She's there
Touching
Teaching
Teasing
Let her into your hard
soil
Let her in (vesta-gate)
Let her in (terra-gate)
Let her in
For the earth was rising
with a swishing sound
Whirling around the sunset was
There was a tiny transparent mushroom
Looking at him from the greenness of moss
And then -
nothing more.
And then there's nothing more
Except
A momentary kiss
Of life
and death.
A cold, thirst-filling breath...
...
Heart
is a proper name. -
Yet let the names
be names
And if you hear, walking in the woods,
A song without words -
Just know -
it trickles through your veins
and roots.
