In my lifetime I've broken promises to myself. mistress_lilith November 15 2006, 19:17:34 UTC
I said I'd never have sex before I got married. Oops.

I said I'd never try drugs. Oops.

I said I'd never cheat on someone. Oops.

I said I'd never pose naked EVER. Oops.

I said I'd never mess around with a co-worker. Oops.

I said I'd never fake an orgasm. Oops. It happens to the best of men sometimes. Nothing personal.

THEN AGAIN...

I said I'd never shoot drugs into my veins. Score.

I said I'd never fake passion. Score.

I said I'd never have sex for money. Score.

I said I'd never steal from a friend. Score.

I said I'd never create drama with my ex's new love interests. Technically that's true. One tried to start with me and I told her to go fuck herself.

I said I'd never love anyone as hard as I love *him* and that's still true.

Whatever promises you make to yourself or ethics you hold high are subject to circumstances. If you could save someone else by sacrificing a moral, or succumbed to sin just once, you will be forgiven just by asking Him. You know that. Forgiving yourself is a part of that process.
