Yes. I get it. Tempe Brennan is an ex-alcoholic.

However. You don't need to state it in every frelling chapter of your book. (seriously, Deja Dead? Like clockwork, at least once a chapter) Your readers are, in fact (we are also smart enough to spell), smart enough to remember it. And possibly, don't actually CARE ( Read more... )

A book? I never would've guessed it was based on a book. The show gives absolutely no hints of this in every single episode.

I like tv Bones, though in the promos her use of eyeshadow is appalling and the slow-motion movement of herself and David Boreanez towards the viewer is slightly disturbing. Also strange to see him not bursting into flames in the sunlight.

Zack is my woobie. ;)

Tempe? Is that her name in the book? Is it short for Temperance, or is that a pointed joke at the expense of the book character rather than a really bad joke on the part of the author? Either way, it sounds like I'd be better off sticking with the show.

*snerk*

Is short for Temperance, ys. Something that is hammered in with a mallet. A lot. I kinda like calling her 'Brennan' or 'Bones', disturbingly enough.

Zack is lovely!

The books aren't... bad... but they're not high art, by any means. Oh, the use of foreshadowing is like having someone drop Thanos on you.

Just as well her parents didn't call her Chastity then.

OMG your interpretation of the books is great :). I find they get alot worse after the fifth, because so much time is spent recapping things. She even starts repeating the same jokes!

And I am glad tvBones is not like the books, because it is perfectly good without being like the books. I see them as completly separate.

*laughs* I'm... very particular about stuff, and, well... I should sit down with something else and pick at it (maybe Elizabeth Peters, or Elizabeth George, or a McCaffrey, for variety). The books aren't bad. The dead people? Keep me reading. But the... the plot.. just.. er. Sometimes needs a sledghammer to fit the square peg into the pinhead hole...

Hah. They do work well, seperately.
