I want to have coherent thoughts.

On Leverage, as well as In Plain Sight. But all I can really come up with is, "Oh, show." at both of them.

I do suppose I have vaguely spoilery thoughts on IPS last night. So, cut. Because even vaguely spoilery shit should be cut.
Yes, I still want to punch anyone who spoils me for Torchwood )

rambling, sff, sff:in plain sight

She didn't walk away but holy GOD was she uncomfortable and freaking out. And yeah, that totally makes sense. Oh, Mary. (And yes, Mary & Elinore. Stop being so awesome. Okay, no, don't.)

I'm predisposed to like Peter because I really liked Jeremy in Sports Night, and it's the same guy.

Yes, that, too. (which I still don't have time to sit down and meta about Mary and not really wanting to break out of her groove and such)

But I was sort of expecting her to be all "LONG ENGAGEMENT" and, y'know, maybe in ten years....

Because while she does sort of honor her promises, and she does (probably) love Raph, there's... baggage. And uncertainty, and she can tell everyone else how to live their lives, but living her own is easier when she's just coasting.

They didn't say anything about setting a date, did they? I mean, Rafe's moving fast, but that's Rafe and he said himself he's ready to move on with the next part of his life. I'm with you about Mary wanting to stick with a long engagement. (And I wondered about her taking her ring off at work--I can't imagine that Marshall at least doesn't already know, so is it just a "this is work/this is private life" thing?)

Yeah, I'm really interested to see how they continue to handle this because I so don't want them to fuck it up.

I am very... awkward with the last couple nights' episodes of IPS. And I'm kind of overthinking myself and going "But I don't know if I'm being prejudicial towards Raph! But... I am highly uncomfortable with this whole situation, and yet it is kinda awesomely real in terms of discomfort and awkward and YIKES."

And Peter is... kinda awesome and wrong all in one go. It's just very confusing. I think this show is very, very good at showing people who have a lot of different sides to them and who are frequently unlikeable at times, but who are also incredibly engaging and likable at other times. It's going to be interesting to see where this goes and I'm really looking forward to the finale.

Also, Elanor and Mary = made of hysterical win. I think my only issue with the work stuff is "NEEDS MORE STAN", but that's my motto in life, so no big.

I am... honestly? I think you don't like Raph, and, yeah, it's coloring.

Peter is weird in that he should know better, HAVING BEEN THERE. And yet.

Probable. I don't dislike him, I just feel like he could do a lot better. And that his suffering patience is bad for him and her. I think I'd be more comfortable with the relationship if there were more moments like the one with them in the shower after the Brandi debacle, or when she was on the phone with him after her kidnapping. There was some connection and joy there, and that's really not what's come across from Mary in the last couple episodes. And it makes me sad FOR Raph. Cuz he is kinda the perfect guy.

And, oh, PETER. The thing that makes my head hurt is that most of what he says makes sense, but not to be telling to a woman who's an Adult Child going through transition. "Love them", "let them in", "do nice things for them", etc.? It's just a big wiggy quagmire. Still, I like that he called her on letting Brandi live rent-free with her for that long. It's just. ARG, I am confused! Still. It cracked me up to see those two actors with another scene as they used to play lovers on West Wing.

Marshall having other friends is healthy! THIS IS SO VERY TRUE and thank GOD for Bobby.

And, srsly, my only response is still, pretty much, "OH SHOW."
