The clouds have brought us all the rain we didn't get for the entirety of last month in these last two days. This also caused our recent heat wave to break, and I'm currently wearing long pants and socks and a hoodie and a blanket. Whoa

What are you knitting and reading? I love reading while listening to raindrops ...
Does it normally rain in the summer? I hope it's not too humid and hot, but cooler.

I'm reading a bunch of things, jumping around: rereading some NG Life, Mars (which I got from lnhammer), new releases of Bunny Drop and some Shojo Beat titles, and Milky Way Railroad, a short novel by Kenji Miyazawa.
Earlier this spring I started a knitting project that would work with my short attention span for projects. I'm knitting squares in different patterns (with lace, cables, etc) and colours so they can eventually be connected as a quilt. It'll be a while till I have enough, but it's fun to try out new patterns, and nice to finish each square relatively quickly.
It normally rains some, and it's normally fairly humid here, but this summer was mostly reeeeeally dry and extra hot (but not super humid). Now it's really wet and cold! Today the rain stopped though, so it's just nice and cool :)

How is Milky Way Railroad?
Knitting squares for a quilt sounds fun. How big is a square 5x5 or bigger or smaller? Are you using the same kind of yarns in different colors or random kind of yarns? I hope you'll post the picture when you're done :) I try different patterns by knitting washcloth ....

Anyway, we can definitely relate to needing human interaction. I don't think we'll be much help, but we can suggest that if all else fails, when we're really desperate for interaction live-action TV shows (via Hulu, for example) can provide that illusion. Right now, we'd recommend H2O: Just Add Water. It's from Australia and is very shoujo manga-y. (But be prepared for a little cheesiness. Well, of course--it's shoujo manga-y. And you may need to watch more than one episode to get into it.)

Thanks for the suggestion! I was curious about the title when you mentioned it yesterday; I'll check the show out next time I need to see and hear real people :D (or sooner, if I find the free time for it!)
