hey there!

Finny was in Mighty Hunter mode today once again, delivering me a teeny tiny baby bird when I opened the door in the morning, and later chasing down a chipmunk while I was sitting in the yard on my lunch break (heh). I didn't realize he could outrun a chipmunk-he chases squirrels now and then but they always get away. But he kept catching this ( Read more... )

Yay for new projects.

"But it's pretty. I can forgive it needing a lot of work because there's pretty."
Is it as much work as Uraboku?

Did the new Lala Dx arrive?

Did you get any manga at TCAF? I'm glad you had a good time.

Oh, it's probably not as much work as UraBoku! (though lettering it reminds me a little of lettering some of the omake pages in that series.) I've been lucky-both these projects were originally lettered (in Japanese) on the computer, so the files we got were mostly text-free (just handwritten asides are still there). So for Pretty series, just laying in all the English text is what's time consuming, and compared to all the retouch work of UraBoku it's bliss. The joys of modern technology!

Yes, I got LaLaDX!! Kanoko's cover is too cute :D Did you get a copy? (I still haven't read v4 yet; I'm starting on Oouso Swing though.)

I picked up GTO: 14 Days v2 at TCAF. And I was silly and didn't think to bring a copy of Chi's Sweet Home, so I ended up rebuying a volume there to get it signed ^^; Now I've got an extra copy of v7...

Our friend sometimes tells us about how his cat used to catch squirrels. He was very proud of her, because no other cat was smart enough to catch squirrels.

As always, we're jealous of your new projects. Us and our constant longing for new projects...

Wow, does catching squirrels take smarts? I guess so, since just running fast doesn't seem to work. I was talking about it with my dad yesterday too, and he pointed out that a squirrel could probably put up a decent fight if it did get caught.

Aww... I could point out that the new projects usually just take the place of old projects that have ended or caught up, but I know, it's the glamour of shiny-new versus old-faithfuls. Have you asked any of your editors recently if they might have something new for you? When summer comes up, I tend to think "New license announcements!" so maybe there's something in the works...

According to our friend, most of the time, squirrels will outrun cats, which is the general cause of cats getting stuck in trees. But his cat would see a squirrel run down the tree, then lie in wait on the other side of the tree, and as soon as the squirrel made the leap to get back onto the tree, BAM! she'd pounce. And since the squirrel was in midair, there was no escape.

Oh, we're not really that bothered by it. In fact, we've learned that if there is any jealousy, it tends to become less when you admit to the person that you're jealous, which is one of the main reasons I say anything. Don't worry; we'll push for new stuff when the time comes.

Wow, that is a smart cat!!

I'm glad you weren't too bothered-I'm always right with you hoping for more titles with your names in the credits! (looking forward to getting Nabari 10 soon :D that series was a bit slow to hook me, but I'm hooked now!)
