Unlucky 11-11 day...

My computer is falling apart!!  Or so it seems.  I've managed to get some harddrive space free again (and that's not really an issue of broken-ness so much as "why do you have so much STUFF lys??), but now, now!!  My mouse isn't working right!!  That's terrible!!!  It's a Mac-mouse, and there's this function of bringing up a different screen when ( Read more... )

injury, that's nat, computer problems, frustration, baking

Everything seems to break at once, doesn't it? Last time that happened to me, I became paranoid and refused to drive anywhere or touch anything that wasn't absolutely necessary, for fear of the curse or whatever it was that was wreaking havoc. Gaaaah!

Sorry for your troubles. Have you made sure your mouse key isn't sticking? Maybe it's dirty and that's interfering with proper clicking? Last week my scroll lock key on Shetan was half-way stuck, and it screwed up everything until I figured out what was going on.

I hope it's something simple for you to find and fix. *sends you good karma*

Pumpkin muffins...*drools* Best of luck with work and all, though sounds like you're on top of that. ^^V

It does tend to all happen at once, you're right. I'm hoping I've got it out of my system so the rest of my weekend will be alright (and this evening's plans went smoothly and happily, at least!)

I just tried rolling my mouse around upside down to see if that would help (the little round scroll button in the middle, if you know Mac-mice) and it seems like it did!, so yay! Now I just wait and hope it doesn't become a recurring problem. I kind of want a new mouse all the same though, because the wiring around the usb-end is getting frayed and "up"-scrolling hasn't worked in many months. But at least it's back to its usual functionality now!

Thanks for the well-wishes! Oh, and the pumpkin muffins!! I tried them out with flours-other-than-rice, so I could report on the results to you (if you lived nearby I'd share the actual muffins, but this is the best I can do)! I'll make a new post with the recipe shortly :D

That's a lot of troubles for a very short time - I'm sorry about that :(

"why do you have so much STUFF lys??)"
with all the image files I can understand that. You're not alone :)
I hope everything will be smooth sailing now.
Don't forget to buy some bandaids, too.

Yeah, I sometimes forget just how huge the lettering files can get. And I'm fearful of deleting things that I just might maybe need again someday. I also have a lot of downloaded music... which I don't listen to anymore, because I decided to stop living the life of a pirate, but I haven't been able to bring myself to delete all of it yet ^^;

Oh yeah, buy bandaids!! I might have a coupon for them too! Thanks for the reminder :D

I was going to suggest burning CDs, but I guess if that were an option, you'd probably be doing it already. I've been technologically challenged today, too, meaning I can't type anything properly, and Page went and messed up the settings in Open Office so it's being all weird. Anyway, the point is, we understand the frustration, and good luck getting it all worked out!

Burning CDs might help (now that I've acquired an external CD drive after the main one stopped working (got a CD stuck in it)). But I don't have any blank CDs either! And my lettering files, which are taking up a lot of space, may or may not actually fit on a single CD... hmmm... Well, I think I could fit one book's worth of files on a CD, but it'd be easier to just dump all my lettering stuff on an extra harddrive, and that way if I need to make a change to something I can still edit the files rather than burn a whole new CD. Still, whenever I get to a computer store I could probably pick up some blank CDs too. My list keeps growing...

Thanks!! And good luck to you getting Open Office to work properly again!! Sometimes I accidentally change stuff in programs I use too (like I hit just one key and suddenly all the toolbars vanish). Keyboard shortcuts can be scary.
