"At least, I feel like I see it in manga recently" Yeah, I think the heroine of Love*Com usually had her pony tail on the side if I remember correctly. "what is up with the plaid boom this year?" really? I don't watch much tv so I can't tell. I haven't seen more plaids than usual on the streets, though. Maybe I haven't paid much attention ^~ I like the I'm-bored pose of the second drawing. Looks like you're having fun with this project. Coming up with daily outfits and different poses ...
Of course, Ageha tends to wear her hair in a side ponytail, and then there's a couple of girls in a couple of frames in Happy Cafe who look a lot like Ageha and Mamoru, and one of them has a side ponytail, and the older sister in Berry Berry wears a side ponytail... It may not be in all the manga, but it seems very popular with Hidaka-sensei and her fans.
As for whether or not to cut your hair... Hm... We always thought you can get more creative with longer hair (it's part of our reasoning for keeping our hair so long, despite being utterly uncreative with it), but CLAMP said in CLAMP no Kiseki that you can't do anything with long hair. But that might just be in terms of character design.
So um... we've been watching America's Next Top Model, so I think it really depends on the shape of your face. But I don't know what hair lengths go with what face shapes. We never pay attention to that stuff because we don't plan on cutting our hair.
Make it long, because it's cuter and more princess-y. And then get some pink jewel-y pins that match those one earrings you have and twist and poof around your crown. That would look fantastic... although I guess it would work with short hair as well :\
I vote long hair. I remember when you had long hair before you styled it up with braids and buns and such, and I think you could incorporate those into your clothing ensembles. You can't do a whole lot with short hair. : /
That first pic is the least terrifying Batman getup I have ever seen. I solved my space problems by doing all my artwork in Photoshop so the canvas can grow forever. I replaced my tablet by the way; turns out just the pen was dead, so now I have 2 I guess; in pink and blue. Now to practice 2 handed drawing.
I've always respected the fact that your "vanity" was based on your view of yourself rather than what others thought. In that regard I hope you will continue to choose what makes you happy without consideration for the opinion of anyone else.
