Okay, that's just ridiculous. And it does suck that I will watch again for the both of them (or either) when we've already been through the goodbye episodes. It's like a bad breakup that won't die! Damn you, CBS.

It makes me feel nothing short of pathetic that I'll also be back in a speed of light the moment JJ and/or Emily make a comeback. It is like going back to your ex after they promise they've changed.

On one hand this gives me incredible fangirl flaily feelings...on the other hand I'm terrified that they'll just mess this all up again. Though, if Paget does come back too I will certainly look forward to how they bring Emily back from her exile, I'm thinking Doyle will have to be killed. Getting A.J. back is wonderful, the replacement blonde has added nothing to the show; I been thinking of her as a cardboard cutout, she's the refresher course for old fans and the mouthpiece for new ones "what are you doing? why are you doing that? unsub? what's that mean? why are they crazy?"

But getting J.J. and Emily back, seeing more of their epic love story (because nothing will convince me they weren't participating in a 'forbidden' love affair, J.J. coming back to send her off was just proof of that to me), and just having them both on the same show putting the chemistry back in the cast would be lovely.

One thing's for sure: if Paget does come back, introducing Emily back to the show will be FRIGGIN' EPIC. I can't wait to see the looks on their faces when she resurfaces. And yeah, somehow Doyle kicks the bucket, which allows Emily to make a comeback.

I feel so bad for Rachel Nicholls, though; her situation was doomed from the beginning. One thing I love about the writing, though, is that they really show Seaver as a rookie, a total newbie to the team. The let's-teach-her scenes themselves do get slightly tedious at times, but at least it's realistic in that sense.

Epic would be good. The show could use more of that. It's been a bit flat this season. I really want to see Doyle come back to terrorize the team for essentially robbing him of witnessing Emily's demise and learning his son's whereabouts, which would prompt Emily to come back again to take care of business (J.J. could call her).

I do feel badly for Rachel Nicholls. I have enjoyed having her around most of the time (when I wasn't being bitter over missing J.J. and Emily), this most recent episode stretched her and made me appreciate her a bit more. But she was always a place holder for the network, a transitional step when they were still thinking of making the show a boys' team only kind of thing. I hope that if they do bring J.J. and/or Emily back that Rachel's character gets to stick around too, she has been a breath of fresh air in a lot of ways.

Sometimes, it looks as if they're running out of ideas & that's when the episodes are, indeed, flat. There was an obvious flair of the old, classic Criminal Minds when Doyle made an appearance and Emily found herself in the storm's eye. Now, if they're trying to bring the show back to its former glory, the quality should improve as well!

The unfortunate thing is that there's no way Rachel Nichols could ever fill the gap left by A.J. and Paget. It's not her fault in the least, but her character simply doesn't have the appeal that would ecplise the awesomeness of JJ and Emily. I'd love for her to stick around if our favourite pair does come back, but I highly doubt they'd do that.

Wow, so CBS finally realised it couldn't dismiss its female leads without the fans noticing and caring. This must be a new experience for them. I doubt they'll learn but I do hope A.J. and Paget make them grovel.

I have decided to be optimistic and view this as a chance to re-capture the quintessential Criminal Minds of season three but with added subtext. If you're reaching, you might as well reach for the stars.

I do feel sorry for Rachel Nichols, though, as she's been caught in the middle from day one.

This. never. happens. Especially when it's the network that kicked the actors out in the first place. Then again, this might also have something to do with the fact that Ed Bernero is leaving and Erica Messer is taking over (i.e. going back to the "classic" Criminal Minds).

Rachel Nicholls hasn't done anything wrong, and I feel so bad for her. Her position has been impossible from the beginning. Poor thing, first Alias and now this.

It is nuts but I bet Paget's last episode got huge ratings and then they just *fell* for the next ones. Looks like CBS may well have realised - too late - that it screwed up and its made Ed Bernero the fall guy.

Its frustrating as hell and reminds me of Micheal Shanks and Claudia Christian's problems on their respective shows....

::sigh:: we shall see what happens

dumb tv networks are all the same /muttering

The ratings have actually remained excellent ("Lauren" got exceptionally good ratings, though), but this whole thing might have something to do with the facts that a) the spin-off is apparently in danger of being canceled, and b) Erica Messer is taking over the show and might want to move towards a more old school Criminal Minds again (which would be fabulous!).

We'll see. I don't want to get my hopes up, but the possibility of a reunion makes my fangirly heart soar.

Oh, yeah! I rejoiced this morning when I heard the news! Definitely, it'll be weird if JJ comes back and Emily doesn't, but still, getting 50% of my OTP back will be amazing.

I sort of want Paget's new sitcom to fail. *ashamed*
