Top15 Romcoms of All-time

Sep 20, 2010 23:58

Yes, I confess, despite of being the biggest commitment phobe in the world, I'm also a hopeless romantic with an embarrassingly large collection of romcoms. There, I said it. Seeing other people live happily ever after is lovely, but if, in real life, someone proposed anything to me, I'd run for the hills. It's complicated ( Read more... )

Sliding Doors ♥ And Suddenly 30!!! :D :D (which is what it's called here. I always feel like '13 Going on 30' must be a whole separate movie)

I think Gwyneth Paltrow's long brown hair in that half of Sliding Doors suits her. YEAH WORLD, I SAID IT. I think she looks pretty with that hair.

Also, I think I'm one of the only people in the world who thoroughly dislikes Love Actually. It's like Little Wing, but the other way around - you have the love and I have the hate ;)

Gwyneth Paltrow looks so wonderful in Sliding Doors! I think I actually prefer the short, blonde look, but the brunette do isn't bad either.

OMG, You are the first person I've ever met who admits disliking Love Actually. Kudos for actually telling the truth. :D Fine, that's your "Little Wing". ;)

agree with 13, 11 (!!!), 9, 8, 7 (lol), 6, and 3!

I thought Sleepless.... was kinda boring tbh. and I've been meaning to watch Sliding Doors since it first came out but I always forget to watch it. xD

but I have to say, I lovelovelove Down With Love! lol I don't care if that ending had this weird twisty thing going on or the plot is pretty much a copy of Pillow Talk. I still loved it. and I of course love the look and feel of the movie. so gorgeous!

and YES on Good Advice. cheesy as fuck but damn I loved that movie. and Angie was hot. still is! it was also pretty sweet.

YES. Down With Love is so...so WEIRD when you think about it, but maybe that's exactly what's so fascinating about it. The ending is just wonderfully cheesy. <3

Good Advice...yeah. I can't explain it. "If God had meant me to marry a poor man, he would have made me homely." SHOULDN'T BE FUNNY, BUT IT IS.

lol I love Angie's *cough*Page's*cough* assistant, Iris. she was the funniest one of them all. I love the part she pretends to stop Ryan from coming in. aw now I feel like watching it. xD

Great list, though on a completely selfish personal note... I am intrigued that of all my faves in that list only Love Actually is "straight" and I apsolutley *love* *LOVE* the James/Auriela story the best. I tell you when she strips to jump in the lake... ugh... but the best bit is how he learns Portugese so he can go tell her he loves her and wants to marry her.... awwwww...I really should buy this movie.

oh and I audibly squeed on seeing "Imagine Me and You"... I *NEVER* get tired of that movie :sigh:

So only four of your favourites on my list? Damn. Then again, where is all this hetero stuff on mine coming from? :p

"And I will inhabit here, or you can inhabit with me in England." CUTE.

I swear I've seen Nina's Heavenly Delights but for the life of me I cannot remember the cringe-worthy line! A hint, please?

I remember when I first saw Sliding Doors it made a big impact on me too, but I would have to put Notting Hill on the top of my list - I was obsessed with that movie.

By the way, I would totally be interested if you were to put together a linguistics textbooks list (I have one myself) :D

A hint, please?

Maybe it's just me then, heh. When Nina and Lisa have been together for all of two minutes (it's literally the next scene after their magical encounter in the restaurant at night), Lisa suddenly goes "I'm so happy about this, let's tell everybody!" WUT? Obviously, they needed to get the plot moving, but that line came so completely out of left field that I'm facepalming just thinking about it.

Now I want to see Notting Hill again. Stat. "After all, I'm just a girl, standing in front of a boy, asking him to love her." So awww-worthy.

I'll totally do the linguistic text books one day, ha!
