To be honest, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have liked Cara so much in "Reckoning" had I not heard (and seen) so much about her beforehand. But since I knew Cara's pivotal role in Season 2, I just couldn't help admiring her right away.

This show definitely surprised me. There is an entire episode about whether or not to KILL A BABY. I mean Xena went there, but I feel like LotS did it WAY better. Particularly when you get to the season finale where you realize that Kahlan should have killed her son when she had the chance. When it is corny, it is pure CORN, but when it gets serious and allows itself to be kind of deep, it does that just as well.
I love this show!

I completely agree. What Xena lacked, in a way, was the ability to handle serious issues as well as Legend of the Seeker does. The baby killing episode was ridiculously dark for a show like this, and I love it that, in the finale, they showed what that previous episode was all about. When they come up with something, they really go all the way, which is fabulous.

Just cover your ears and go "la-la-la" whenever they get too religious. I just tend to turn a blind eye and ignore it, since I doubt it's done completely on purpose.

and dude, even my ovaries dance excitingly when Richard is his best (not when he is a whiny wuss), and they are on a strict 'no babies now' diet.
