Just how much do I love sports? A lot. A lot. Wintertime is always good to me in that sense, since it's time for the new seasons of my favourite sports. XC skiing hasn't offered that much yet, but

Oh, look, I have lots of things to say about this post.

1) Katja needs to cut her hair. Gro needs to dye it back. She's ruining the blonde/brunette thing.

2) Gro looks like an AWFUL dancer. She's basically shoving the guy away with her hand. (Isa is practically doing the same too -- taking the guy's hand away)

3) Isa is still v. cute.

4) The WC groups are RIDICULOUS. Stupid France got South Africa and we (Brazil) get Portugal and Cotê D'Ivoire? RIDICULOUS, RIDICULOUS. :( :( :(

5) I hope England is out in the first round. A loss to the USA would me lol for all eternity.

6) NOM NOM NOM IKER. All I need now is some Piqué, Villa, Cesc and Fernando and I'M GOOD FOR LIFE.

LOL! It's not good luck to be drawn against the USA - that's just typical sporting prejudice towards them. They beat Italy in 2002. They beat Spain this year while Spain was top of the FIFA world rankings! With a run of 15 straight wins, and 35 games undefeated (a record Brazil can't beat). And the last time England were drawn against the USA, we lost. I lol whenever people dismiss the USA in football.

Their victory over at Spain on ConCup was one of the biggest flukes in sports I've seen in a while.

And, honestly, I'd much rather draw the US than Portugal. I don't think anyone would prefer the other way.

Were the 15 straight wins and 35 games undefeated flukes too? :) The USA seem prone to a lot of flukes... I sure hope we don't succumb to one of them (like last time, lol!) But I agree with you re. Portugal - I'd rather not be drawn against them either.

Germany's very lucky, too. We'll probably be kicked out first round. *g* But I was amused when someone commented, "They play football in Australia?" Bwah!

I'm annoyed about the playing times, though. 1:30pm, seriously? I thought me being in almost the same time zone as South Africa had its benefits. But no. Even 5pm is stupid o'clock to watch a football game.

Yeah, quite a few 'big' football countries were really lucky. I mean, Spain's in the same group with Switzerland, Honduras and Chile - if the team plays even half as well as they did in Euro2008, they'll easily qualify for the next round.
