I'm not usually a fan of Finnish films, but this one is a classic. New version is gently to modern viewer, but original has more value obviously. The topic itself is where many Finns take pride, and why not? Survival against all odds is the stuff from where legends are born.

I have such a love/hate relationship with Finnish cinema, but Tuntematon Sotilas is in a league of its own. The book was quite wonderful a read as well.

Loved your dog list - some very interesting breeds there. The only one I have yet to meet in person in the Leonberger. I adore the Border Terrier that we have come in though - he is quite the character.

A friend of mine has a Leonberger and, omg, it's the cutest thing! Like an enormous teddy bear. ♥ Our family friend used to have a Border terrier that stayed with us whenever he was on holiday - such a sweet little thing!
