Oh no!

I have teddies that are worth a lot in monetary terms and teddies that are worth a whole lot more in sentimental terms - I can't even begin to imagine how awful that must have been.

A good toy restorer might be able to help - I've seen them work wonders on antiques and there are a few bear/stuffed toy specialists out there. Not sure about their rates, though.

It was aweful to see. He'd been dragged through the dirt and it looked like his head had been scooped out with giant claws (which I guess it had)
