Very nice! I was in the mood to read fic tonight, and I'm so glad I saw your post. This is a great exploration of Lily in relation to the people in her life and I think you did a really good job with them. Thanks :)

Thanks! I really enjoyed writing this (bizarrely, since it's essentially a sad story), so it's nice to know it works for other people, too. (And hi!)

Hello!

I think it shows when the author really enjoys writing something. It does, here :)

This is really wonderful! I love the details that I'd never have imagined on my own, like it being just a regular day before Voldemort arrived at the door, or what it was like for Lily and James to come face to face with him previously. The letters at both ends make for a very neat structure. Well done! I'm sure such_heights really enjoyed your strong Lily voice, too!

Thank you! I'm so glad you liked it; I've never written Lily before, and I had a blast imagining what life must have been like for her.

Also, I must thank you for your sneaky recs; every once in a while I get a review from someone who says you sent them to read (like westwardlee today. So thank you!

There's, ah, something in my eye, I think. Well, you know how very much I loved the original, and the new bits in this with Snape etc are really wonderful, too. ♥

Oh, and here's a download link for Dante's Prayer: http://www.mediafire.com/?cbt1mhdhlz4

♥ I didn't want you to feel you had to read the new version, but I'm glad you like it anyway.

And you're a star! Thank you - I'll add that link to the post.

I'm not normally much of a Lily person, especially not Lily-as-mother, but I liked this very much (perhaps in particular the way you had the Peter and Sirius business going on in the background).

Thanks very much. I've never written Lily before, either, but it was very interesting trying to get into her mind. Am glad you liked!

What a beautifully-constructed fic, as usual! I love the way you've opened & closed with two letters, here, and also looped the idea of Snape through with Lily's feelings about him at the beginning & Dumbledore's mention of another spy at the end. I also loved how prosaic and clear-sighted Alice Longbottom is. :) I think my favourite part, though, was this -- In some ways, it was the sweetest time of all -- and that section of the story. It's an entirely fresh viewpoint on what the hiding time at Godric's Hollow must have been like for the Potters, one that I (& many others, I'm sure) never considered before, and it's heartwarming (and heartbreaking) that Lily and James found a little bit of happiness in the midst of everything. ♥

Thank you! I'm glad you liked the Snape bits, and Alice. Re the section with them in hiding, I just felt that, once their choice was taken away, they would have to make the best of things, and it might actually bring them closer. I'm glad it worked for you :). And thanks for such a detailed review!
