I wrote this story for an exchange, and I love it, far more than you're supposed to love your own stuff. In a 'kill your babies' sort of way (as in, you should consider cutting any part of your story that you really love, just in case that comment alarms anyone

I always assumed black cloaks and white masks.
But you can't trust me, because I imagine Scream masks - or, rather the Scream mask in Scary Movie. This may be why I've never really taken Death Eaters or their fans seriously.

I'm pretty sure there were two versions of the masks--the ones we saw in GoF were white, but the ones in OotP were silver.

I'm under the impression that the masks are supposed to appear skull-like in the books, and thus yes, definitely white-ish, but now I can't find any references. It's possible that it was just movie!GoF influencing me. :/

Thanks for your input. I am starting to suspect that JKR might actually have written the entire series without specifying the colour of the masks :).
