Still not dead

...but I still don't have a computer, either. I have been more or less keeping up with my flist, but if there's anything you particularly want me to see, let me know.

I had a dream last night that I logged into LJ and half my flist had been deleted. Oh, LJ, you break me.

I did the City2Surf (14 km fun run) yesterday. ( Cut because this is probably of no interest to anyone, but I wanted to write about it. )

hiatus, running

Oh, sweetheart, that sounds awful. *huggles* But well done you for completing it!

Thank you. *huggles back* It was a bloody miserable couple of hours, but I felt fine straight afterwards!

Wow - congrats on completing the run! Asthma attacks really suck, but it still sounds like you did a great time to be only a minute outside the "this would be brilliant" category. Especially since it was so unseasonably warm yesterday, which can't have helped (lovely as it was for those of us not running).

Thanks! (Although the "this would be brilliant" time was last year, not this :).) This year I ran about half an hour slower.

I was wandering around freezing yesterday, going, gah, could've done with this chilly wind during the run!

Only half an hour's difference is not much at all considering the difference in fitness... and I'm still impressed at even the people who walk the course, let alone those of you who actually run it!

Cheers! (And eek, that 7 year cycle thing is spooky! I do seem to have heard that somewhere.)

Don't really want to take the doctor route, as the last time I was there he frowned over my chest and told me we could up the dose/add in extra medication if it stayed this bad. I'm already on far too much medication for my liking. Am taking the reliever about eight times a day and they moved me up from becotide to seretide (brown to purple!) a couple of years ago, but I haven't really seen any difference.

So my strategy now is to try different things: diet, anti-allergy bedding, LOTS of hoovering (sigh), breathing exercises. I'll let you know if anything seems to have a major effect, in case it helps your sister, too!

Uh-oh. That's scary. I don't have asthma, nor does anyone in my family, so I don't know what that's like. But egads!

Good for you for taking on the run!

Re asthma, I hate watching or reading about anyone who's choking, because it sets me off in sympathy! But mostly it's fine; this is just an annoying setback.

Thanks! Back to basics now with the running, I think.

Well done for getting round! And next time, accept that you're ill and call it a day ;-)

Thanks.

*g* Yeah, my pride wasn't having any of that, unfortunately!
