"Go on, sweetheart," he muttered. "He'll listen to you." -- This is a lovely ficlet, but I love this line specifically, because of what it says -- about Hagrid, and Ginny, and Harry -- all at once, within the span of two sentences. ♥

Thank you! I loved the fact that Ginny was the only person who could bring Harry out of his shock in HBP. And I like the idea that Hagrid is more aware than he's sometimes given credit for - in some things, at least.

It's really good how you manage to create tension in the first part even though the reader knows that Harry's - well, not fine, but not dead at least.

I love it when readers pull out things like this, because to be honest, I wasn't thinking about creating tension at all. I was just trying to imagine how Ginny would feel, trying to get to the front of that crowd. I'm glad it worked from a readerly point of view, too :).
