This was so heartfelt and beautiful. I think you did an absolutely fantastic job of getting into Augusta's mind, especially watching her with Frank and Neville. I was sniffly at the end!
Oh! And I also wanted to say I loved how you left the mystery behind Neville's notoriously bad memory unexplained. We'll probably never know for certain whether it was indeed a botched memory charm, or simply his way of coping with what he saw that night.
I LOVE your icon here! And yes - I'd love to know the real story behind Neville's absentmindedness (if there is one), but I suspect JKR will leave it up to our imaginations.
Hello! I don't know where I found I link to this, but I'm glad I did. Well written - like filling in the gaps of what we know from canon. I feel for all of the Longbottoms... :(
Hi, and thanks! Very glad you liked it. I've always been fascinated by the Longbottoms, both those who have suffered (Alice and Frank) and those who are left to deal with the fall-out (Augusta and Neville). Poor family!
The most amazing thing is when a writer can take you into the head of any character and make them sympathetic, show what the world looks like from their point of view. I love how you did this with Augusta, and how you gave her and Neville a bit of reconciliation in the end.
Thank you very much! I do actually have great sympathy for Augusta, despite the fact that she isn't shown very sympathetically in canon. I'm so glad that worked for you - and there had to be a bit of Neville love at the end :).
