Oh God, that's utterly beautiful. I don't think I've ever seen anyone take on Alice post-Bellabitch, and you've absolutely ruined me for it should I see another. This was painful and understated and exquisite. I can't say how much this worked for me, really I can't.

Thanks so much; coming from a writer like yourself, this means a lot. I didn't exactly find Alice difficult to write - she sort of wrote herself, really - but I wasn't sure if I'd pulled it off, so I'm relieved that people seem to find her plausible!
