One in a Million?

Either the Tdap or the HPV gave me a fever, nausea, and pain (not in the injection site, just all over).

I forgot to mention that this morning getting up I got so dizzy I couldn't see and managed to fall down in the living room and skinned my knee.

I hate my body.

sick, hate my body

Yow. You have my sympathies. Hope whatever-it-is passes off soon. (I had my Tdap the other month and all I got from it was the knot at the injection site, thank goodness. I'm a total wimp about needles. The medical person giving me the shot was great, though: it was the only painless one I've ever had. I made sure to compliment her fulsomely afterward.)

I am terrible about needles, to the point where the nurses always go out of their way to explain to me what's happening. That's how I learned that it wasn't the needle that hurt but the vaccine going into the muscle.

Of course, that didn't make the burning of the HPV any better to stomach. And ditto to the knot. I can't raise my arm above my head.

I know, right? I almost wish it was bad enough that all I can do is lie in bed and sleep it off, but it's just good enough that I can't justify shirking all the things that need doing, but bad enough that I'm sore dizzy pain as I do stuff. *grump grump*

That sucks even worse. Having to work when you feel bad - I hate that. (Granted, I do it a lot.)

Nope. The fever and aches are considered mild symptoms and the doctors don't care about those. They only care if I start seizing or something.

According to the fact sheet I got, 10% of people get a fever reaction to the tetanus shot, so it's rare but not unheard of. Come to think of it, I think this happened last time I had one too... Stupid tetanus.
