last night's craziness

Not only I do admire your committment to this cause (which I've been following on Twitter), because it's all too easy to think that someone else will do it and then the beautiful countryside is gone, but I also think you're incredibly brave to go to such a hostile and threatening environment.

Thanks!! I wasn't even that brave, since I didn't get up and speak. Those folks who live in the belly of the beast and still speak their mind are the real heroes.

I am glad that no one was actually hurt. That must have been so scary. But kudos for doing this. It is deeply important.

Thanks! It was pretty nerve-wracking, and I wasn't even in West Virginia! My friends there said it was one of the scariest things they've experienced though.

Damn. I think you're right that MTR's on the way out, but that sounds really scary. Thanks for your work on the ground.

PS -- Did you hear about my friends David and Gabe? I'm not sure if that stuff makes your job easier or harder, but I'm pretty proud of them.

It was pretty scary! I didn't know the folks arrested at Walker were your friends, that is cool! It doesn't really make our job harder, except for the fact that the industry uses it to bolster their assertion that it's just a bunch of outside agitators making problems. But if they didn't have that to yell about, they'd find something else. And MTR affects everyone regardless of where they live!
