...and then I lost my fish

Yes yes, this is two work stories in one day, because just as I finished posting the last one, I turned around to say good morning to Seymour and he was lying sideways at the bottom of the tankI gasped and covered my mouth, stood up quickly and ran over to Cici and Jeannie. I sometimes don't clean the tank for a bit and my fish get the wobbles. I clean the tank, sure that they'll be tits up by morning and then they're fine. If it was just the water or too much foods, a change should bring him back in 24 or so.
Goldfish are hardy little f#$@ers, I know. They're up there with tigers and bettas in my personal cannotkill ratio.

If Seymour turns out to be constipated instead of actually dying, I really don't know if I'll laugh or cry. I just... WHY MUST HE PERSIST WITH ME??

Oh dear.

I had a betta who died because of what I later determined was some sort of infection, and he floated on his side at the end.

He was the third betta who died after less than a year, and I felt too much like a murderer to continue with fish.

Don't wait for one of your co-workers to step forward. If Seymour survives, just transfer his bowl and food to somebody else's desk and refuse to touch him again.

*giggling* I just broke down and cleaned his tank, and put him back in there and have been staring at him all afternoon. Hi, no, I have done NO WORK today. omfg. He's actually thrashing a bit now, and I can't tell if it's his death throes or his comeback. This is one plucky little bastard.
