Prius vs. Pathfinder

As many of you know, I've been keeping track of the mileage I've been getting in the Prius. I've kept track of miles, mpg, cost per gallon and per tank and the number of gallons per fillup. I'm currently at 146 fill-ups over 61,000 miles. This has let me make some interesting calculations.

Yeah, when I bought my first hybrid, some people tried to tell me the added expense of the car wasn't going to be recouped in fuel savings. But it wasn't really about that. For me, it's about not having to fill up too often and not being as stung by the huge price swings we've been having the last few years.

Anyways, my mileage has been for shit since I got the new tires a few weeks back... I'm only getting 34-36 mpg (I used to get at least 40 mpg). I've gotta check the air pressure, but I also worry this different brand of tire, while I was assured 'were exactly the same ratings' as my old ones, are different enough somehow and are making my car less efficient. :(

It isn't about that for me either, I'm in it for the nerdiness.
