He had that same kind of energy.

I shall indeed consider them words of reassurance. I also remember when Copper was a kitten and I had to get her to take medicine. When there was a type she liked she practically tried to swallow the applicator.

The vet said that was a better option for younger cats. For a 14 year old the stress might not be worth it.
