This almost made me cry. Another part of it I miss is walking through the woods with my dad while he taught me the name of every tree, snake, frog, turtle, bug, or bird we found. We'd go to the river or lake and look for deer tracks or raccoon and coyote tracks. I remember when dad built me a tree-house in the backyard, and then later I remember when I got my trampoline for Christmas. I invented (or thought I did) the best thing ever! My treehouse wasn't too high, so I slid my trampoline under my treehouse and the put the sprinkler on the trampoline. I would jump off the treehouse and onto my trampoline with water everywhere. It was awesome!! I didn't have any siblings growing up, so my dad was my best friend. He was just a big kid, too, so we had the BEST times! It was funny, because he bought me a basketball once, but we had a gravel driveway. That didn't work out very well

lol my Uncle Benny use to tell us our new shoes made us run faster and jump higher :D Smart man, it was the only way to keep shoes on me after a summer of barefooted bliss.

We never had adults walking with us showing us things like tracks. Somehow we picked up that information...older cousins...hunter safety and 4H helped. But we use to track through all kinds of woods near us...lol ok and some way outta the way.

My little town was perfect for that. It's riddled with woods, caves, creeks, rivers...too much fun. Also, if you found yourself way outta the way near dark, more than likely a passing car knew you and knew where you were supposed to be and would give you a ride :)

I grew up a Navy Brat so things were a little different for me too >.< I also had a PC at age 7 >.>
