I'm in Louisiana which translates to I GET TO EAT REAL FOOD! The young waitress said, "he's shuckin' the oysters". I damn near cried!
We had: oysters on the half shell -- with lemon, horseradish, cocktail sauce and hot sauce; whole oyster po-boys that were so big I couldn't eat the second half; boiled potatoes that I slathered in drawn butter, salt and pepper and hot sauce, a pistolette -- a sweet, fried bread; and oyster scampi.
We are thinking about extending our trip to go back to Chookie's to eat more raw oysters Monday night. That's when they'll be $5 for a dozen. I'm considering not eating too much at Aunt Delma's Cousin Day festivities today so I can go back to Chookie's tonight. I know I'll be at Chookie's for lunch Sunday.
Heaven will have food from Louisiana.
