My Pawpaw's friend request for facebook almost made my sulky, life sucks, mood go away because while I think facebook can get kind of ridiculous...or completely ridiculous...how awesome is it that grandpa is on facebook.

I wonder how many other people on there can list their birthday as 1922...

That's it, it's now official. I'm in the rapidly shrinking pool of people who can't stand the idea of Facebook or other social networking sites. I'm becoming a hermit in today's society. My attitude is "If I want you to know what I'm up to I will probably tell you."

Everyone at work seems to have one and they always ask me when I'm getting a Facebook account. I always joke - sort of - that I spend a large part of my week with them so why would I want to keep in touch with them in my free time? lol I mean I like 99% of my co-workers but the 1% I don't like I don't want to know my business. Not that I'm doing anything nefarious or anything but I just feel like Facebook is one big giant gossip fest. I've known more people who get into arguments over misunderstanding comments they read on each other's accounts.

Oh well, I guess I've finally turned into my parents. When I complain about Facebook I remember my father telling me, "Why should I pay for TV when I can get it free?" when I told him how great cable was. lol

Ha, a couple of years ago my mom and her siblings got my grandparents a computer, and when they unwrapped it they looked at it like it had the plague. To this day they refuse to try e-mail, and my grandpa asks us to do Google searches for him when he wants to find a study to back up his point in a letter to the editor.
