My thoughts and prayers go out to Dr. Tiller's church, and family today. He saved many women's lives by doing work that no one wants to do. He helped them through heart breaking and difficult circumstances; paying for that service with his life. Peace be upon those who are hurting at his loss.

In my opinion late-term abortions are criminal, but still he shouldn't have been shot.

I think you need to consider KS state law in this matter. Only abortions in which there is no hope for the baby's survial and the health risk of the mother is so great that she will die if the baby is not aborted is legal. He followed the law and save a lot of women's lives. These were not places of a woman choosing not to be a mother, these were women who had baby rooms ready for a new life when things went horribly wrong. It is not an easy or good place to be, and Dr. Tiller put his life on the line to help these women. He is a hero in my book

I've talked with a health care professional and done some soul searching since my first comment. Late term abortion or a procedure that is like an abortion is done if the baby is not viable or also to save the life of a mother. If a baby dies inside the mom the fetus has to be got out or it's going to make the mom very sick or possibly cause death. The nurse I talked to said she's pro-life, but thinks everything needs to be taken on an individual basis. If someone must have an abortion she thinks it should be done by a trained professional and not by some back alley butcher, because she said women are going to have abortions whether it's legal or not. She doesn't think it's the jurisdiction of the government to tell women how to handle reproductive health. I can see the merit behind that point of view. I guess I don't think abortion should be used as birth control when there are so many ways to prevent pregnancy if one really doesn't want a baby and adoption is always an option in case of accidents. I think what is also really ( ... )
