With all respect, and while realizing this is a sensitive issue, I'd be curious to see more data from more objective scientific studies, not from books that promote the idea that, to quote Brownmiller, "Man's discovery that his genitalia could serve as a weapon to generate fear must rank as one of the most important discoveries of prehistoric times...From prehistoric times to the present, I believe, rape has played a critical function. It is nothing more or less than a conscious process of intimidation by which all men keep all women in a state of fear." (emphasis in the original)

2. An adult male perpetrator has a slightly greater than 50% chance of being cleared for his crime even before arrest If they have been cleared of their crime, how has it been established that they are in fact a perpetrator?

i understand your consternation regarding Brownmiller's assertion. The book 'Against Our Will' was published just over thirty years ago, before the discussion of the incidence of male on male rape was considered an issue. Unfortunately, stigmaization in this regard is still virulent, alot of times even moreso than the stigma women still suffer at the hands of the authorities who have taken an oath to protect them. I am not asserting that all males are rapists or potential rapists. Because Brownmiller implies that does not, in my opinion, negate the importance of the research that went into the book
