Do you go on music jags? Right now, I'm overplaying David Bowie's "Heathen" album. There is a quality to this album that is reminiscent of later Beach Boys work. It has a '70s beach-pop feel without becoming irrelevant. Which is not a bad thing. Plus, it puts me in mind of childhood and lazy summers without end. I beat the rain, but I can sure feel it coming. The air has gone still and cold, the birds are silent (aside from the warning squeaks of nesting robins). The diligent chickadee parents nesting in our back yard continue to bring beakloads of what ever food it is chickadee chicks require. The birds were awake and singing by 5am today. I'm not usually up that early, and I didn't stay awake to listen, but it's lovely to hear bird song in the morning at any hour.

Anyway. Amazing how the garden changes in two scant weeks. Clicky to see the tulpen!
