Words! Words! Words! pt One

This is a meme that is just starting to go viral on my flist. It's a departure from the clickybox what shade of blue are you "quiz" thingies that I try not to fill out too often. Rather, it's kind of introspective. On a coolish, dampish, greyish day, a bit of introspection suits me well. So:

A certain Ms. M. of Woodland Glen pointed out this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7LNwUjd0gLo -- an episode of Free To Be You And Me, something I'd not seen before. I've not gotten back to look at the rest of them.

words! now about yours: I think I'm "part-raven," too... I keep feeling drawn to them, and I named my jewelry business "laughing raven." about raising boys, truer words were never written, and as I struggle with my beautiful boy I will read your wide words here often. and your last line made me laugh, hard. thanks for that. ;-*

Also, have you read the Courage to Raise Good Men by Olga Silverstein and Beth Rashbaum? I cannot recommend this book enough to mothers of boys. My dad gave a copy to me when Mouse was about eight years old, and it totally turned our relationship around. I seriously don't know if Mouse would have done as well as he did if I hadn't gotten my hands on this book, as he was spiralling into frustrated violence at that point and I didn't have a clue what to do about it.

Brilliant book. Hope you can get your hands on it ">
