Christmas Knitting Revisited

One more shawl done, one left to go. I'm about to finish the second ball of four in Mum's Kiri, so that's pretty good. Particularly as *fanfare* I have my MiL's shawl off the needles! Wrapped, even!

But before I wrapped her up, I took her picture, and here she is:

I'm working on a very similar pattern right now--I believe it's called 'trailing vines' or something like that. It's very pretty.

It took me ages to be able to feel the lace with this one; seven repeats of the pattern in all, and I didn't 'get' it until the sixth repeat. But it is lovely, isn't it?

That really does look moth-like. I love it. What weight is the yarn?

It's a sport-weight. Most of the shawls I've made this year have been sport-weight; I've been kind of afraid to tackle the smaller yarns.

Next year; I'm starting a fingering weight Icelandic lace in January '>
