yes! i've used all of google docs formats and they are all awesome: the word processing, powerpoint, and spreadsheet. they all rock. just fiddle around with it. the best thing is that you'll never ever lose it, like if your computer crashes or something.

I really need to try the powerpoint on google. I didn't realize they released other office products other than spreadsheets.

yeah, ten year old software (not to mention M$ software in general =p) is generally not gonna be too fun to work with.

i second the googledocs suggestion and would like to also recommend open office as a viable alternative.
