Since I'm aiming to complete an entire table on Ezra Standish over at
crossovers100, I figured I should get an introductory post ready for those people not familiar with the show 'The Magnificent Seven'.
The Magnificent Seven was originally a movie - Western - starring Yul Brynnar and others I can’t remember. A few years ago, someone made it into a TV show, which is still being shown on the Hallmark Channel (I think). This crossover is based on the characters from the TV show.
It is a unique fandom. The show was based in the old west, some time after the civil war, but the unique friendship between these seven men caused one author (Mog) to write about them in a modern day setting (as Denver ATF agents). Now, ATF fanfiction rivals Old West fanfiction in quantity and quality. This spawned a vast array of AU’s which put the guys in various worlds. Past, present, future, fantasy, non-corporeal. There are sagas involving the guys in the Star Trek universe, as Immortals (Highlander), dragon slayers, FBI agents, as brothers (foster or real), even an incredibly lengthy epic that puts them in Star Wars, between the two sets of trilogies.
From the
Meet the Seven page at Blackraptor:
The "Gambler" Ezra Standish is a cardsharp and a con artist, as is his mother, Maude, who left his upbringing mostly to relatives and with whom he has a volatile relationship. It is not known which, if any, of Maude's five former husbands is Ezra's father. Ezra is undoubtedly the most intelligent of the Seven, and also the one most concerned with appearance and manners. He makes no apologies for his considerable skill as a con artist.
ATF Ezra's chosen career in law enforcement, as a civil servant, no less, is an embarrassment to his wealthy jet-set mother who left his upbringing to a series of nannies and private schools. Ezra is extremely intelligent, well-educated and extensively traveled, and always impeccably attired.

If there's anything else you think I should add, let me know. Thx.
