If you know where the marching ends, and it's not a convenient circle, sometimes it's easier to park the car near the end point and bus or walk to the beginning. That way, if you time it right, there are rests between the hikes, and you are doing the solo trek before all the authorities and bystanders are riled up.
Better yet, if you have friends going, team up to drop one car at the end of the route and then carpool to the beginning, so a car at either end means no one has a double walk.
Excellent advice. So far, I've been doing these on my own. With luck, more of my friends will join in over time.
Edited to add: To be fair to me, I have not actually known the protest route ahead of time either time I marched. I guess, for reasons, these things aren't always posted on the sites. I couldn't have planned ahead this time, but *shrugs* it wasn't that big of a deal.
