Life is being politely quiet lately. This is to prepare for the start of my course on Monday, I suppose. I shall enjoy it while it lasts ( Read more... )

Ah, the book is not better... I don't know how's the original version, but the spanish translation was awfully written. I kept on reading 'cause the story looked good. Till the moment the dull, flat and almost constant sex scenes began :/ BORING.
As I said, I don't know in the original version, but the sex of that book in Spanish is the worst sex I've read in a while.

I heard the show wasn't bad but after reading the book and your posts I really don't know if I'll find the time to watch it ^^;

I've seen the book around but not read it yet - I might well if it shows up in the library but I'm not going to buy it. The story really does look interesting but OH GOD SO MUCH SEX. And the show is just like that - the plot is interesting and then there is CRAZY SEX. And I find it ... so dull. I'm not a person who is very interested in sex so it would be nice to have MORE PLOT and LESS SHAGGING. *sighs*

Still, maybe it improves later on? I will keep everyone up-to-date with the excitement! :D

For my money, Seasons 3 and 5 of Buffy are the best as seasons, while four has some of the best episodes and 2 has a terrific central arc. 1 is an introduction, 6 is unfortunate and 7 has many strengths, but hits its arc too soon and it ends up being too drawn out.

Having only seen Episode 2, my impression of True Blood is that the female lead is going to be in mortal peril at the end of every episode, and we haven't even got started on the skeezy shapeshifter stalker shit yet. I read the first book, and am still haunted by the SSSS. Why does she still talk to the guy?

I'm interesting in your choice of Season Three actually, because to me that's one of the weaker seasons. I know I'm in the minority though because everyone else loves it but it felt far too bitty for me. I love all the individual components (bar the tedious love triangle and Buffy/Angel) but they don't gell well enough for me.

I don't really remember Seasons Six and Seven well enough to judge properly. I know I liked them while watching but that was years back (and I think I only ever watched them through once) so I'm looking forward to the reassessment!

I strongly suspect you're right about True Blood. (hey at the end of Season Three, she's not in obvious mortal peril! Just facing a corpse, that's all! Does that ... help at all?)

Oh God Skeezy Shapeshifter Stalker Shit? I am soooo excited to find out what that's about (I have a pretty good guess though, Mr I-Bark-in-My-Sleep. Yes, I can in NO WAY see where that might be going!)

I felt that Season 3 tied together really well, as well as bringing together several threads from the earlier seasons. Also, the Mayor was pretty much the greatest villain ever.

Oh yes, and the SSSS: it all comes down to whether, in the show, she knows about the barking before she lets the dog sleep on her bed.

I'm sorry the show is a bit skeezy but I have to say, your comments on it are amusing to me ^^

I'm glad it's entertaining anyway! And it's quite a good show in some ways ... just ... filled with somewhat skeezy sex!
