Well, that is to be debated... some people say there is. I personally am what is called a very "wet" doll owner - i.e. I talk to them and cuddle them and play with them and have every smidgeon of their personalities laid out. Other people just see them as works of art; though most BJD owners do develop this very odd sense of attachment to these things, it's impossible to describe really.

I personally think it's the resin. It gets into your brain. Like crack. Only more expensive.
