Okay, I don't love the new trailer all that much, but I found this video amusing. You might not.

I thought the same thing as Matt during the opening. Green hills + Celticish music makes me think Scotland/Ireland. I suppose they and Forks  do have similar weather. But what is with that music anyway? It's dramatic, I guess that's all that matters.

Sorry I can't watch the video at this second, but I'm totally with you on the trailer. Aside from the kiss, which made me squee a bit, I was unimpressed. Kristen Stewart reassured me somewhat because so far what I've heard of her lines felt a little false to me and I feel like she did better here. Rob however did not impress me as much, but now that I hear Edward's lines out loud, it's hard to believe anyone could say them right.

However the trailer seems to have won over my mother and she's thinking of seeing it with me!

Oh yeah, the kiss is good. Seems like the best parts of the movie are going to be them smoldering at each other and such. And the thing with the apple was cool.

but now that I hear Edward's lines out loud, it's hard to believe anyone could say them right.
I think that's the hard thing about doing the exact dialogue from the book. I know how it's always sounded in my head, and their rhythm is different so it sounds off to me. That said, I LOVE that they are using a lot of the same dialogue. I'm expecting the lines to sound better when we can hear the whole flow of the conversation.

Well, I guess it's effective then! I always wonder what people who haven't read HP or Twilight think of the trailers. Glad your mom liked it!

Actually my Mom read Tw and NM, but she was hardly impressed. I think she likes RPatzz having seen the trailer now...

Haha. I would too. I'm glad they got that element right though, if nothing else. Because, really, without it there would be no point.

My mom read all of Stephenie's books a couple months ago- I think she had read everything she'd checked out of the library that month or something. She said they were entertaining and seemed to like them all right, you know, for what they are. I think The Host was her favorite because the other day she asked me if there was going to be a sequel.
