Don't worry too much about changing majors. I entered college having no idea what I wanted but settled on one thing, then decided I still have no idea if that's what I want so therefore I am working all I can to have some money while trying to make up my mind what I want to do

I didn't mean to make it sound like I was putting down someone like you who is majoring in the field you are and spending all the time in school that you will be to pursue that major. I just meant that you don't have to be in a major such as that to feel like you are intelligent and doing something worthwhile with your life. It works for you because you have the time to spend on your homework plus friends and family... for me, it wouldn't work, because I have to hold down a job with as many hours as I can get, and very rarely can you easily combine a full-time job, or nearly full-time hours, with hours of homework dedication plus social time

mm i also want to add that i switched majors too (i know biochem to computational chem doesn't sound like a big switch to an outsider but it definately is) so just remember i think like 80% of college students change their majors at least once, so its not the end of the world :)
It's ok Sara. My suitemate switched her majors, and is a much happier person--although she knew what to change her majors too.
My dad used to say that I was going to be a "professional student" so I know what you mean when you say you'd like to just keep learning.
Although I really enjoy chemistry, I do also enjoy music and Spanish. So I can see what you mean about not wanting to concentrate in one area alone.
Just remember that no matter what you decide to do, you will always have friends. Even if all you end up doing is studying, I will still be here for you, and I'm sure other people will too. It's what real friendship is all about--you don't necessarily have to see someone to be their friend. If all I can do is leave you a little note that you read in between classes or in between studying...then that's all I can do. And eventually you won't have to study so much, because you will be working. Then you can slow down and not worry as much.
I have faith in you Sara...you'll find what you want to do. :)
