ahhh I love these. After I finished the Javi/Fernando one I had to take a break so I could flail. Although Cris/Kaka is generally a pairing I read, I really liked that one as well. It has this tension throughout that's just heartbreaking. The Messi one feels really accurate to his real life persona somehow, and also I kind of wish it would go on forever and ever because the premise is. gah. love.

I don't even like Cristiano Ronaldo and I was sniffling quietly there at the end that is so beautifully terribly sad, all the wanting and the resignation and the way he genuinely means well in everything and knows he's not getting it right

I wanted the mafia thing to never end. Every sentence was just. Perfect. The way the barca players fit into that premise - Cesc and Gerard and Leo reminding each other how it feels to be young, Leo and Canales, Xavi and how Leo is with Pep, all loyalty and uncertainty and debt and supressed affection. Bojan playing barefoot! Victor removing bullets! And all seen through the kind of quiet, beautiful space in Leo's head where he thinks about how he ought to stay and watch, and how to get the blood out of clothes. Now I want to know about Xavi and Andres, and how Ibi settles in, and what Pep was like with Cesc and Gerard WHY DID IT HAVE TO END.
